Durable, BPA-free food-grade plastic housing with a 0.1-micron hollow fiber membrane filter. Each straw weighs just 2 oz and measures 8" long. Includes 1 backflushing plunger per filter.

- Before first use, flush the filter with clean water to prepare the membrane.
- Backflush regularly using the included plunger to clear debris and keep water flowing smoothly. Backflush more often when using cloudy or silty water.
- After each use, blow air through the straw to remove leftover water, then let it air dry with the caps off before storing.
- Do not let the filter freeze once it has been used. Ice can damage the membrane. In cold weather, keep it inside your jacket or sleeping bag.
- Do not use soap, bleach, or hot water on the filter.
- Do not share your filter mouthpiece with others.
- Replace the filter if water stops flowing after backflushing, or after reaching 1,800 gallons.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

How does Filtra work?

How long does one filter last?

Each Filtra straw filters up to 1,800 gallons, which is years of drinking water for one person. Unused filters never expire, so you can keep them in your emergency kit and know they'll be ready.

What does it NOT filter out?

Filtra is designed for fresh water sources. It does not remove viruses, salt, heavy metals, or chemicals, so don't use it with seawater or water near industrial runoff. In areas where viruses are a concern, pair it with a purification tablet or boil your water.

How do I clean it?

Every filter comes with its own backflushing plunger. Push clean water back through the straw to clear out debris and keep it flowing smoothly. After use, blow out leftover water and let it air dry before storing. Don't let a used filter freeze, since ice can damage the membrane.
